Terms of Service

If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you have authority to bind it, and “you” means that company. If you do not agree with these terms, do not use the site. Our privacy policy forms part of this agreement and explains how personal information is handled.

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter a contract to sell equipment here.

Every contract of sale is between the buyer and the seller directly. We do not negotiate price, inspect equipment, verify title, hold deposits, arrange transport or finance, or guarantee that either side will perform. We are not an agent, auctioneer, escrow provider or dealer.

It follows that disputes about a sale — condition, payment, delivery, title — are between the buyer and the seller. Tell us about problems anyway: we act on reports of fraudulent or misleading listings, and that feedback is what keeps the catalog honest.

Seller sign-in works by one-time link sent to your email address, so control of that mailbox is control of the account. Keep it secure, do not share sign-in links, and tell us immediately at support@vac4sale.com if you believe someone else has gained access. Account details you give us must be accurate and kept current.

By publishing a listing you confirm all of the following:

• You own the equipment or are authorized by the owner to offer it for sale.
• The equipment is genuinely for sale, at or around the price stated, and is not already sold.
• Every material statement is accurate — year, make, model, hours, mileage, capacities, condition, location and known defects. Photographs must be of the actual unit.
• Title is clear, or any lien or encumbrance is disclosed to the buyer before a deposit is taken.
• The listing complies with applicable law, including any export, emissions or registration restriction that affects where the unit may be sold or operated.
• You will keep the listing current, and mark it sold or remove it once the equipment is no longer available.

Vac4Sale lists complete machines — trucks, trailers and self-contained units. Parts, pumps, hoses and tooling are out of scope here and belong on Hydrovac News instead. We review listings before publication, but that review is a sanity check on scope and presentation — it is not an inspection, an appraisal or a verification of anything the seller has claimed.

You may not use Vac4Sale to:

• Post equipment you do not own or are not authorized to sell, including stolen or lien-encumbered units presented as clear.
• Misstate hours, mileage, year, condition, capacity or certification status, or use photographs of a different machine.
• Post the same unit repeatedly to gain placement, or post a listing whose real purpose is advertising an unrelated business.
• Post out-of-scope items, including parts, consumables, services or unrelated goods.
• Harvest seller or buyer contact details for marketing, or send unsolicited commercial messages to anyone you meet through the site.
• Attempt payment fraud, advance-fee schemes, or any request that a buyer wire funds to an account that has not been independently verified.
• Upload malware, infringe someone else’s intellectual property, or post unlawful, harassing or deceptive content.
• Interfere with the operation or security of the site, or circumvent rate limits, access controls or fees.

By posting a listing you grant Vac4Sale a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, adapt for display, and publish your listing content — text, photographs, videos and documents — on Vac4Sale, on Hydrovac News where you have opted in, and in promotional material for the marketplace such as search result snippets, social posts and email digests. The license exists only so we can show your listing; you keep ownership of your content, and the license ends for future use when the listing is removed.

You confirm you have the rights to everything you upload, including photographs taken by someone else.

Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not receive or store card numbers. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any applicable sales tax. Fees buy the listing — placement and duration — and never a commission on the sale, which is not charged at any tier.

• A paid listing renews at the end of each billing period until you cancel it.
• Cancelling stops the next renewal. The period already paid for runs to its end — we do not cut a listing short on cancellation.
• Fees already paid are generally non-refundable, because the listing has already been published. If something went wrong on our side, tell us and we will make it right.
• If a listing is removed for breaching these terms, no refund is due.
• We may change prices. A change never affects a period you have already paid for, and takes effect from your next renewal.

Current pricing is on the pricing page, which is the authoritative source — these terms deliberately do not restate figures that would otherwise drift.

We do not verify hours, mileage, service history, title status, lien status or tank certification. Those are for you to check with the seller and, on anything significant, with an independent inspector. Our buying guide sets out exactly what to ask for and what to look at.

One warning worth repeating: never act on banking details that arrive or change by email. Confirm them by telephone on a number you obtained independently. The most common loss in used equipment sales is a deposit wired to an account named in a compromised email thread.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free, that listings are accurate or current, or that any buyer or seller is who they claim to be.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Vac4Sale is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost business or lost data, arising from your use of the site or from any transaction you enter into through it. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

You agree to indemnify Vac4Sale against claims arising from your listings, your use of the site, or your breach of these terms. Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, in which case they apply to you only to the extent permitted.

Manufacturer names and trademarks appear here only to describe equipment offered for sale by third parties, and belong to their respective owners. Their presence does not imply any affiliation or endorsement.

Bulk scraping, systematic copying of the listing database, and use of the site to build a competing dataset are not permitted. Search engine and AI assistant crawlers that respect our robots directives are welcome — being quotable is the point of writing the guides.

Where a breach is minor and fixable we will normally ask first. Where a listing is fraudulent, misrepresents equipment, or endangers other users, we remove it immediately and without notice. We may also remove listings that fall outside what this marketplace covers, or that duplicate an existing listing.

To close your account, email support@vac4sale.com. Closing an account removes your listings from the site. Sections that by their nature should survive — the license for content already published, the disclaimers, the liability limits and the indemnity — continue to apply after termination.

We may update these terms as the marketplace changes. When we do, the date at the top of this page changes, and material changes affecting account holders are notified by email. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
